“Founded in 1955 and on-air since 1957, WTJU began as an educational radio station at the University of Virginia. For more than six decades, we have continued to extend UVA’s educational mission and bring people together through music and conversation.
WTJU’s flagship 91.1 FM airs excellent music across genres – from classical to jazz to folk to rock to hip-hop – as well as community stories. Our operations also include WXTJ 100.1 FM (student radio), Virginia Audio Collective (podcasts), CharlottesvilleClassical.org, and a variety of educational programs.
